Are you a highly experienced project manager from a assembly background, looking to take on a role with full industry training, managing a talented design team and niche engineering projects? Are you looking for a role with realistic progression opportunities?
On offer is pivotal role managing and mentoring a design team of 7. You'll oversee bespoke projects, updates, and product improvements, with clear progression to Head of Design.
This best-in-class organization, design, and manufacture niche products. Due to the anticipation of incoming projects, as well of a full logbook of orders, they are looking to bring on a design manager to lead their seasoned design engineering staff.
On offer is a role to lead an experienced design team, organizing projects including drafting changes, major overhauls, new concepts, and product improvements. This diverse role offers opportunities to broaden your engineering skills while guiding the department.
This role would suit a Design Manager from the industrial machinery, automotive, medical device or similar background, looking for a role where you will receive industry specific training and will have a huge impact in shaping a team and steering the overall design efforts of the organization.
The Role:
- Coordinating design effort for aircraft components and structures.
- Diverse work, managing a mainly mechanically biased staff with an additional focus on aerodynamics and electrical engineering.
- Progression of offer through to Head of Design.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- Experience as a Project Manager os Senior Project Manager from a complex assembly / industrial machinery background.
- Experience with SolidWorks (or other design packages).
- Prior experience as an aircraft mechanic a huge plus.
