Trainee Field Technician - Sensors

Dallas or San Antonio - Staying Away 4 Nights Per Week

$65,000 - $70,000 + Full Training + Medical + 401k + Generous PTO + Comprehensive Perks Package

Excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a technical career in the Energy sector by joining a rapidly expanding group of companies that can provide advanced and valuable training on the installation of unique technologies.

This international company has almost tripled in size over recent years, having made several high-profile acquisitions to establish themselves as the leader in the North American market for power measurement and monitoring solutions used by clients across a variety of industries such as energy trading, utilities supply and power plant operations.

In this role you will undertake full training in the installation, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of specialized power monitoring equipment, initially shadowing a Senior Technician before being able to work autonomously. This will also involve completing initial field surveys and liaising with landowners.

Due to this being a field-based role, overnight stays are expected to be required on average 4 nights per week.

As this is a Trainee position there are no technical requirements for applicants, however you will need to be a self-starter, comfortable working outdoors and an excellent communicator for interacting with landowners.

This will also be a great opportunity for someone leaving the US military who is looking to develop a promising engineering/technical career as they transition into civilian life.

The role:
* Travelling across Texas and surrounding states, staying away on average 4 nights per week
* Initially shadowing a Senior Technician during training period
* Visiting owners of land identified for potential installations, conducting field surveys and gaining approval for installation
* Carrying out the installation of power monitoring equipment
* Visiting existing sites to conduct servicing, troubleshooting and repairs of sensors

The Person:
* Clean driving license and able to pass a background check
* Comfortable working outdoors and staying away from home approximately 4 nights per week
* Good communication skills, both verbally and written
* Highly motivated and eager to develop a technical career
